What is the Graduation Party?
The Graduation party is a celebration for all graduating 8th graders at Wilmette Junior High School.
What is the date and time for the Graduation Party?
The Graduation Party will be held in June 2019 from 9:00 – 10:30 pm.
What should my child wear to the Graduation Party?
Students are to wear graduation attire. Girls should wear dress pants, skirts or dresses. Boys should wear a collared (button-down) shirt, dress pants, and dress shoes. (A tie or suit is optional.)
Who is allowed to attend the Graduation Party?
Only WJHS 8th grade graduates and parent volunteers are allowed to attend the party.
Is my child allowed to leave during the event?
Graduates are not allowed to leave during the party. When the party ends at 10:30 PM, students may leave, and parents need to ensure they pick up their child promptly.
Tip: Designate a prearranged meeting spot with your child, as the front entrance can become quite congested after the party.
Does my child need an admission ticket for the Graduation Party?
No admission ticket or RSVP is necessary for the party. The celebration is open to all WJHS 8th grade students.
What activities are at the Graduation Party?
There are many activities at the party that include: inflatable jousting, a Velcro wall, pop-a-shot basketball, air hockey and a photo booth. There will also be a DJ and dancing.
Will there be food at the Graduation Party?
Yes. Ice cream, cotton candy, chips and water will be available at no charge to the students. All offerings are peanut-free.
Are there any giveaways at the Graduation Party?
Yes. Students will receive a $10 gift card as a party favor.
I need to drop my child off earlier than 9:00 pm. Will he/she be allowed in the doors before 9:00 pm?
No. The students are not allowed to enter the school until 9:00 pm.
I would like to help at the party, whom do I contact?
Both 7th and 8th grade parents are encouraged to volunteer! Please check back here nearer to graduation to help decorate and volunteer at the party.
